854 FNN
We had several AEC Regent V's which came from Barton's at Nottingham. Most of us learnt to drive possibly in one of these and most still hold fond or special memories of one of them. 854 was in the fleet the longest and is currently being restored.
Its registration was used on B451 KTV Vanhool Astron during its time as a demonstrator, then was transfered to WNR 530X Vanhool Acron and the AEC becoming AAL 522A. 854 FNN registration is currently being searched for to return it to the vehicle.

1960 AEC Regent V 854FNN [now reregistered AAL522A] fitted with Northern Counties full front bodywork, with front entrance lowbridge body seating 37 on the upper deck and 33 in the lower saloon.
Entered service with Barton october 1960 , and was the last of a batch of 5 vehicles no's 850-854.
When new they were fitted with the Cave Brown Cave heating system which was later removed.
She was withdrawn in 1973 passing to P.R. & R.H.T. Godward [G & G coaches] of Wickford in january 1974[and was joined by 852 in april 1974] and was withdrawn in january 1977.
In january 1978 ,she passed to Redfern coaches, Forest Town, Mansfield as their no 54 and was reunited with 850 & 853 and later build 962.
she was withdrawn and sold in march 1981 to Kirkby [dealer] at Harthill and to Kirkby-Andrew at Chesterfield in november 1982.
In may 1985 , she was reregistered AAL522A , and the origanal registration was transferred to WNR530X, a coach in the Redfern travel fleet.
A check on the registration in may 2010 found it to be on a Volkswagen Touareg , sadly the owner is not interested in returning to its rightful home on 854, unless he gets 2 grand for it !.
No further dates are known , but in the mid 1990,s 854 was owned by Bob Yarnell and kept at the N.T.H.C. Ruddington.
Roger attempted to purchase her in the late 1990's , but she was sold to Paul Baker of St Neots.
In october 2008, following the Barton centenary event, she passed to Quantock motor services , Norton Fitzwarren nr Taunton [http://www.quantockmotorservices.co.uk/ ]
owned by Steve Morris.
And in a 3 way deal , that saw Southampton 366 returned to Southampton , 854 passed to Dave Wheatley of Trowell on 23 may 2010
